The mind is not free

The mind is addicted to its thoughts and feelings.

Craving produces fear and fear increases dependence

Craving: grasping, clinging, wanting, needing, thirsting, attaching, depending, etc.

Attachment and dependence destroy love

Knowing and understanding oneself

takes away ignorance and sorrow thru right thinking.

To control or suppress fear does not overcome it

One must discover its cause or source.

Attachment and dependence arise from ignorance

Actually

you are related to the other person's image, or to the experience you both had, or to the pain, or the hurt, or the pleasure.

Thoughts

I tried to meditate in the evening. But I just kept laughing all the time. It must be the energy.

Everyday I wake up to realize that I've done things in the past that were harmful and hurtful to others and to myself. And I'm trying to make up for my mistakes.

Some definitions

Love is wishing others to be happy.

Compassion is wishing others to be free from suffering.

Attachment is neediness, dependence, or addiction.

Thoughts breed fear and sorrow

You don't have to go to Asia to meditate

You can meditate anywhere.

Where there is attachment there is fear

Where there is fear there is sorrow.

On attachment

So why should we be attached to each other?"

Love and suffering

Unless we find out what love is not and what it is, we will suffer desperately.

Can the mind be free from attachment?

We say too many things

we don't really mean. And we hurt ourselves.

Love is not flattery, attraction, attachment, and mutual exploitation

Love is space

Love is probably the space where the thoughts interact. When the thoughts are loud, the love is passive. When the thoughts become silent, that's when love becomes active.

People aren't looking for love

They are looking for pleasure.

Love is forgiving others for their faults and mistakes

Completely.

Thoughts are not love

Because thoughts are often false, wrong, nonsensical, confused, selfish, and self-centered. Love is real and true. Love is there when there is no vanity, fear, hatred, envy, suspicion, distrust, jealousy, anger, violence, etc.

To die to the past is to live in the present

Don't dissipate your energy thinking about the past.

Love doesn't give a damn

what you think about love. It is simply there.

Are thoughts love?

Thoughts are not real. But they hurt. Love is real. And love does not suffer.

How can I be sure?

The mind is always seeking certainty.
